An amazing night of #karate and #kobudo under the stars tonight. 73 degrees, no wind, no clouds… I’ve learned a lot from this session in terms of karate and my own strengths and weaknesses. Tonight, and until the end of the #30daysofkarate I’m trying to put it all together so that everything I’ve practiced or read or watched can be related to each other. Tonight I spent 45 minutes with my #tonfa and #bokken, but #focused on not only how the movements relate to empty hand movements but how the #kobudo movements can be done according to Choki Motobu Sensei’s tenet that the blocking hand should be able to immediately become the striking hand. Interesting to try that with tonfa! Now to walk the dogs one more time and then back outside for #starlight #meditation since who knows how much longer this weather will be around.
