Day 29 – OMG is tomorrow really the end of the challenge? Not sure how I feel about this. Taking some time tonight for #journal #writing and #reflection while waiting for my son who is at chess club. Later tonight will be, as usual, #meditation (hopefully outside, #underthestars) with a helluva #workout tomorrow to bring this to end. Congratulations to @mish.mash.do and @erickastengren (and #thanks) for doing this with me. Well, it’s 12:30 AM and I’m just starting Day 28 of #30daysofkarate Rather cool evening but the darkness and quiet solitude is perfect for #kata #underthestars After my kids went to bed (late) I went online looking for a new bag for my gear since my backpack self-destructed last night. I guess that hour of online shopping doesn’t count for the challenge, does it? 😂 Anyway, kata time, then bedtime, then keep looking for the “perfect” gear bag for #karate. Any suggestions? An amazing night of #karate and #kobudo under the stars tonight. 73 degrees, no wind, no clouds… I’ve learned a lot from this session in terms of karate and my own strengths and weaknesses. Tonight, and until the end of the #30daysofkarate I’m trying to put it all together so that everything I’ve practiced or read or watched can be related to each other. Tonight I spent 45 minutes with my #tonfa and #bokken, but #focused on not only how the movements relate to empty hand movements but how the #kobudo movements can be done according to Choki Motobu Sensei’s tenet that the blocking hand should be able to immediately become the striking hand. Interesting to try that with tonfa! Now to walk the dogs one more time and then back outside for #starlight #meditation since who knows how much longer this weather will be around. And that concludes Day 25 of 30 Days of Karate. #martialarts #bushido #budo #outdoordojo #training #innerstrength #innerpeace #mindfulness @mish.mash.do @erickastengren @jeremylesniak @jay_the_sensational @ando_mierzwa @karateculture
